Bending techniques for flat materials using cut patterns: a review

چکیده

The techniques that permit the materialization of organic and curved geometries include those based on curving flat materials using cut patterns, which have been explored with improvement digital manufacturing tools. This study has analyzed kerfing, lamina emergent mechanisms, auxetic linkages kirigami, seeking greater knowledge differentiation between these techniques. mechanical principles, objectives, possible applications, types cutting among other aspects, were investigated. It was noted kerfing mechanisms presented similar aspects regards to aiming at folding or bending material, use considerable thickness, dependence torsion segments for set. Meanwhile, kirigami also used stretching material depended buckling segments, being more suitable thin flexible materials. For focus architectural scale while in small applications (such as electronics). No specific identified LEMs linkages. information collected understanding each system sought contribute a adoption by designers.
